The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) was officially opened by Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit late in the afternoon of Thursday 29 August 1991. The Center's name honors Her Majesty's 60th birthday, which falls on August 1992 and marks her completion of an auspicious fifth twelve-year cycle.

Her Majesty lends her prestige and support to numerous charitable and self-help organizations around the Kingdom, and her efforts have been widely honored internationally.
